What a fun little boat! Mine is a 2000 model taken in as a trade on a larger boat I sold. My expectations was to sail it a couple of times and sell it to get the rest of my money, but the little boat brings back the simple joy of sailing we sometimes loose with larger more complicated vessels. The hunter is easy to trailer at about 750 lbs trailer and all, so any SUV or V6 car can take it anywhere. Rigging is simple, and takes about 20 minutes or less by one person including stepping the mast and mounting an outboard.

The boat looks somewhat like a Clorox bottle ( or half one anyway), but it has quality Harken Hardware, North Sails and a Majic Tilt trailer that add to the perforance of the boat. Since it's not a keel boat, it can be tender on the wind and you need to pay attention, but it really moves and is easy to control with the large mainsail and small jib. Added features are the open transom for swimming, roller furling jib for simgle handed sailing and a high boom to prevent head injuries. Opt for the spinaker kit and cockpit cushions, and for about $8500 new you are ready to go.

Great boat at a great price.
