Intentional Grounding (for bottom painting)

There is a place nearby that, I am told, boaters can take their boats and intentional ground them when the tide is running low on a sand bar to do bottom painting. My question is, is this possible with a fixed shoal keel sailboat. Mine is a 23 foot Soveriegn and I was wondering about the heeling over on its side when the water is gone and, I guess, I also concerned about structure damage to the hull.
