Amory, if you use stainless steel nuts. I would apply tef gel to all of the surfaces before assembly. This product was designed to isolate dissimilar metals and act as a anti-seize compound. If you do a search you will find the information on this product. I am pretty sure WM sells it. I have been using it everywhere I join aluminum and stainless. It is recommended by Brian Toss a professional rigger. I have also read that neoprene tape will act as a good isolator. I will be using my original nuts. They were still in good shape and I am not in salt water. The catlina instructions suggest capping everything in gelcoat to seal off against moisture (I know, that worked so good the first time). keeping a clean dry bilge is obviously the best solution.
