That is certainly interesting regarding the option listing for a glass covered keel! The only time I have seen glass used in the keel of a C27 was when someone had to drill large holes through the keel to sister in new keel studs and then the used fairing compound and glass to fill the holes.

I guess that the glassed over keel would give you a better substrate for a bottom finish like Baltoplate or other highly finished racing bottom job, but it is tough to see that expense paid out for a C27!

Out of curiosity, is there any listing of what the price was for that option? That is a pretty labor intensive job for a production facility, I would think.
