What to do now? The entire compression block is out, and all the wood in the base of the keel sump is out, and all the nuts and washers are off. Looking at the catalina instructions, it looks like I can line the keel with several layers of fiberglass only, no need for wood or anything else. However, I am not sure what to do about the block under the compression post. I found one post in the archive where someone filled it with solid epoxy. So my choices would be 1)Solid epoxy with silica or filler 2) a hardwood block (what kind of wood?)encased in epoxy or 3) solid fiberglass board cut into pieces stacked on top of each other and then gaps filled with epoxy. Does anyone have a recommendation or other suggestion? I am leaning toward the fiberglass board pieces.
