Installation of a rigid boom vang?

Does anyone have experience installing a rigid boom vang, such as one manufactured by Garhauer? Any tips or things to watch out for? I'm always concerned that someone will accidentally undo the line used for the boom lift and drop the boom on someone in the cockpit. It also seems that a rigid vang will provide better control that the 4:1 purchase we currently have. Thanks for any advice you can give.
