I took everyone's advice to the bank, and bought a brand new Origo 3000 on ebay. I like to support my local marine retailers whenever I can, but they wanted $395 for the stove; by going to ebay, I got it for $100 cheaper, even when shipping is calculated.
I've also printed out Tim's warnings for future reference. Good tip!
