I have used the Garhauer unit on several boats (not my own however), and they are great. MUCH more power for adjustments and gets rid of the topping lift. The only gotcha is not to get overzealous with cranking on the vang. They are so much more powerful than the original 4:1 block setup that the factory boom was made for, that you have the ability to deform the boom if your not careful.
