I am heavily coveting wind instruments that I have seen on many other boats. I have bareboated on big cats (38-45 foot) about 5 times and have always loved having that information at hand. I sail my catalina in Long Island Sound, where the summer winds are notoriously fluky.
Am I crazy to want to install a Raymarine ST60 wind instrument on my catalina? Will it help me master the fluky winds? And would there be much benefit to swapping out my old moor knotmeter for a raymarine, so that I can get true as well as apparent wind information? And are there any better options out there? The raymarine ST60 seems to give the most bang for the buck.
Thanks
