Although you will see a noticeable difference going from 6hp to 11hp, the Universal 5411 is an older model than the 14hp Universal model M-18. Unless you are getting an EXTREMELY good deal on the engine (used I assume), I would spend a few extra dollars on an M-18 model if available, or better yet, a Yanmar, especially if you are going with new vs. used. If you are paying someone to install the engine for you and you plan on keeping the boat for the indefinite future, it will be worth the extra money on a new yanmar or westerbeke which will likely weigh less and have more horsepower than a rebuilt or used 5411.
