Report: outside forum guidelines

In Response To: Replace sheaves photo (pic) (George B)

OK, well, I went up the mast yesterday.

I loosened the forestay cable, and rigged a temporary rope forstay for safety.

Up the mast, I found the pin that holds the forestay in place is frozen to the headstay. Wouldn't budge, and hammering on it started to deform it so I stopped.

I tried to remove the top cover to get at the sheave that way, but those screws are frozen too.

Help! What now?
