Hi Friends,

OK, so sleeping inside the V-berth has proven to be fairly comfortable for two 6' tall adults. The challenge is getting in and out with your feet towards the V.

I want to hang a 2-space teak handrail on the ceiling right above where your head sits, so that you can reach up and pull yourself in or out feet first.

So, here is the question: How do I do that?

Do I pre-drill the teak feet, then drill all the way though the ceiling out to the deck? If so, what type of fastener do I use? How to seal it?

Do I use wood screws? Will three of them hold 180 lbs of weight?

Thanks!
