It works well. the problem is you can NOT reach the tilt/lock lever! So the PO rigged a pair of small lines to pull the lever. It works but is not ideal. When I was looking for a new boat over a year ago I saw many ways to deal with the larger engines. Several cut the hole in the transom, but the problem is the lazarette hatch needs more space too. Some use a lifting bracket (I think this option is what I would do if converting now) but the 9.9s are very heavy so make sure you get one that can help lift.
