In Response To: Teak stock (Frank, 1974 C27 Simone, San Diego)

Frank, Well I was off a bit,I just called and it's up to 24.50 Bf (wholesale) in Washington state. Last fall I did a Teak/marine plywood cabinet for an outdoor kitchen/bbq grill and it was 18.00 bf then, not much more than VG Fir. I would have used Afrormosia but the customer didn't like the ribbon apperance. Ipe is a pain to work with as raw stock, best to buy as finished lumber like 5/4x4.
I know that shipping would be a killer to San Diego from here. I would think that there would be a wholesale lumber supplier local? You may have to head up to LA to Cherokee Wood Products(only one I could find online). If not contact Specialty Forest Products up here in Algona.
For 15.50 a bf it would almost be worth it. LOL
