Transom squatting

Report: outside forum guidelines

I've just put my Catalina 27 with a Merc 9.9 2 stroke back in the water after bottom painting, and I notice an unusual anmount of squatting at the transom under power - to the extent that the bottom lip of the outboard motor cutout is actually under water at around 3/4 throttle.... is this normal? Can it be counter-acted by adding weight under the vee birth or other methods? Many Thanks.
