I toyed with this idea, as I had a boat once where the screws pulled out when lowering the mast. The problem I found with the c27, and it may not be a common problem as there seems to be many designs of mast hinge in use. The problem I encountered was that I was unable to make through bolt connections match the profile of the support beam under the deck. In other words some of the bolts would be through the beam and others not. Good luck!!
