lazarette cover

Hi-

The lazarette cover in my 77 Cat 27 has come off it's hinges. Actually, it looks like it was off its hinges long before I started messing with it. Lots of holes, and the last set of hinges didn't look like factory installs. They lifted the cover a quarter inch high, when closed, which led to a cracked cover. Anyway, does anyone know how this thing was hinged originally? I have a set of hinges from CD, but these don't seem right. They need to be parallel to each other, but I can't make that work given the curve on the aft edge of the cover. Any ideas? I don't mind a little epoxy and fiberglass (which needs to be done anyway), if someone has that kind of fix that worked for them.

Thanks-Russ
