I don't have a fix in mind but I believe mine is going the same way. As far as buying hinges, I wouldn't get locked onto CD. I recently had a hinge broke on one of my cockpit lockers and I found an identical replacement for a couple of dollars at LOWES.Marine oriented dealers always seem to have inflated prices. I was recently in a large marine store ( who shall remain nameless) and they were asking $10 for a can of acetone which can be purchased at Walmart for $4.50
