Engine Temp Guage Trouble

Hi Friends,

I have an Atomic-4 and am having trouble with my temperature guage.

It continues to peg low, below 120 degrees F, and does not move. I have measured the engine temperature with a glass thermometer, and it is actually 140-160 degrees F.

I have 12 volts coming into the guage from the ignition circuit to ground, and I have 8 volts going to the temp sending probe on the engine block.

What's funny is that at rest, with the ignition off, engine cold, the needle sits just above 120 degrees, then when I start the engine, it goes and pegs low.

I have swapped in a new guage and a new sending probe, and I get the same result.

Any ideas? Please help, as this is a newly installed rebuilt and I am paranoid about overheating it...

Thanks in advance!
