Hi AMory - well, I thought I'd chime in and at least offer my sympathy!! I did basically the same as you, although my deck was not soft, and I installed new track that was 8 feet long, I think...it was the hardest thing I've done on my boat, which includes having to rebuild the mast step area that was rotten. I hope you don't have any more leaks - I was able to get mine to seal up...time to take it out and just sail it, I say!! Put the rail in the water if you get the chance - Jon
