Mid Boom Traveller

Depends on the age of the boat. The later c27 boats equipped with mid boom sheeting have a much narrower cabin hatch than the early end boom sheeters. Consequently on the older boats there is not enough space between the hatch and the grabrails to instal the requisite wood block support for the mid traveller. Operationally I do not like the mid boom traveller as I sail basically singlehanded and my arms are not long enough to tweak the traveller without letting go of the tiller. I am a big believer in a good traveller as it makes a world of difference to mainsail trim, additionally the mid boom sheeting applies considerably more stress on the boom than end sheeting.

Best of luck DRACO #2301
