This is what I have on my 74. It has the wide hatch. Plenty of room to mount, no wood blocks, aluminum brackets. It was done buy the original owner for racing. Won the Oregon Offshore. I dont like the rear cockpit mounted, gets in the way of everything. Just thought you would like to see. I would not change it for anything. Also go for the solid boom vang. No more topping lift to catch the full batton main on. BTW I have a tall rig boom on a standard rig mast. Got to go fast you know. Forget what they say about mid boom being weaker, ha, mine hasn't broke yet and has been rode hard and put away wet.
