I would never try it (especially at this time of the year up here. I do realize however, that someone more skilled than me can do it easily. You mean your sea-cock not your actual thru hull right? My boat still has the original gate valve....It gets used every week. It will be replaced by a proper sea-cock this spring though. I have had the actual thru-hull spin (on my old boat) while trying to remove an old sea-cock...another reason why I'll wait till it's out of the water.
