Green "DC Service indicator"

I have just purchased a 1994 Catalina 270 LE (St. Clair Shores, Michigan)- The Green "DC Service On" indicator light on the electrical panel (110VAC/12VDC) is out. All power works just as before the light went out. Is this indicative of a problem or do I simply need to replace the indicator light? Also, all the outlets in the cabin only work when plugged into shore power and not when on DC power only. Could that be indicative of a problem? I purchased the boat 2 months ago. Initially, the Green "DC Service On" indicator was "ON" all the time....now it's out. Did it just burn out or did the outlet issue cause it to short out? Thanks for any suggestions. DMayer
