in Michigan and I'm very close to putting the boat in the slip. Just a few more tasks...
Trouble is, there've been blocks of ice in the backyard birdbaths and pond each morning. So it could still be a bit too early for putting the boat in. There are also a few "icebergs" in White Lake. It's amazing how long it takes for the snow and ice to melt. I'm dying to try out the new Torqeedo electric motor. I expect lots more CONTROL when docking. Time will tell!
Regarding IdaSailor rudder in posts above this one: It never occurred to me to put the tiller ABOVE the stern slot when installing the new rudder. I miss being able to stand up while putting the tiller in the straight, stand-up position. Good maneuver for entering crowded docks... control- and vision-wise. Would like more feedback on how this tiller position works out.
For me, the one drawback of the Sun Cat is the tiller slot and freedom of movement it doesn't allow. Otherwise, I'm a big fan.
