I tried to tilt it back and it was really hard to do. I bought the boat thinking I might have to repower to a smaller 5hp, but the PO talked me into trying it first. He really beefed up the motor mount to handle the extra weight and claims the two batteries up front evens out the weight distribution. I did put it in the water last week and couldn't get the motor to keep running (it would die out when I gave it some throttle), which I'm hoping is because it sat for quite awhile or maybe stale gas. The advantages are the alternator to charge the batteries (lots of electronics ) and, of course, the extra power. Not sure if it's worth the extra work yet.
