In Response To: In review of John's picture I would definitly want another 2"-4" of height (pic) (geneWj,First Born & Teacher's Pet III. Bradenton,Fl.)

I pondered the size for a long time. It was a decision to go with size and looks rather that full size and what appears to be over scale for a small boat. While the traditional mooring bit has a broader range of uses and as stated by others more robust, this one is mostly for anchoring and short term docking. It is backed up by a matching base plate under the glass. So I gave appearance and scale about 50% of the weight and functionality 50%. If the boat was larger I could have gone to 100% functional as in Gene's boat. So it was a compromise. Should hold the anchor line(s) and two dock lines. 1/2 inch is all I go up to.
