Take a closer look at the process. There has to be a reason for the problem. Sit back in the cockpit and look over the way things work. Check out each part and determine if where the excess friction could be coming from. If the wind is light try it at the dock when you can concentrate on just the sails and not worry aobut the boat. Mine goes up real easy. BUT I can't have any tension on the boom from the mainsheet or from the reefing lines. The smallest load on the clew will make the last few feet impossible. I have lifted up the end of the boom with one hand while pulling the last foot of halyard. The pull will raise the gooseneck but you may have problems with the leach being tight. My lazy jack /topping lift will also take the weight of the boom off the sail. THink it through first. When it gets hard to pull stop and move things around to see when it gets easier. Try lifting the boom end and give the halyard a try. Was it easier? Try to lift the gooseneck, easier? Does it appear to be jamed at the block? Etc. The beauty of the spinlocks is you can pull with then locked so the line will never run back on you.
