I was hoping an extra pair of remote eyes might jog a useful thought.
In that last foot, is the luff tight? If yes, the boom gooseneck is dragging. If the luff is loose all the way up to the gaff gooseneck, maybe that's the source of the drag.
I dunno, other than that. Too darn many miles here, too - hard to offer good advice from afar.
