As a kid, I rode in a TD many times; as an older kid, it was a TR-3, then autocrossing an MGB, and later, an Opel GT. The last act was a Speeedster replica, rock solid reliable with a 1641, dual Webers, snakey exhaust, and a pretty lumpy cam. Big honkin' A008s on the back, not quite as big on the front. Lowered Ghia front end with discs. ran out of revs about 85, quick hole shot if you didn't bog it, and scarey quick through the turns. Erector set top meant that if you got caught in the rain in town, you headed for a car wash or drive-through bank to stay dry. Above about 40, the airflow kept you dry.
I spotted an MG recently, and had a carlust flash....is yours a daily driver?
