In Response To: Anybody tow a Sun Cat with a Ford Escape (Dave, Sun Cat #103)

I towed a Heresshoff America 18 500 miles from Annapolis MD to Charleston SC. Maximum gas mileage with the Tribute on the highway is ususally 25 mpg but was reduced to 17 mpg while trailering. The HA-18 is 2500 lbs plus the weight of the trailer about 700 lbs. It was definitely a struggle for this vehcle and now I have a Toyota 4 Runner which is a lot better for this size boat. I think becase the SunCat is less weight, you should be fine with the Tribute or Escape. I did have the tow package with the transmission cooler and I think that is a very good idea.
