In Response To: Mud Hen (Craig - Starwind 19, North East, MD)

1. Hoist mast 2. Insert giant fast pin 3. Turn boat head to wind. 4. Pull both throat and peak halyard at the same time so gaff goes up parallel to the boom. 5. When the luff is as tight as you want, cleat off the throat. 6. Continue raising the peak halyard until the big wrinkle from the throat to the clew goes away. 7. Don't sheet the boom in too far. Keep it a foot or so out from the boom gallows.

Peak halyard tension wrinkles: Too Tight Wrinkle: peak to tack Too Loose Wrinkle: throat to clew No wrinkle: Trimming range Light air: close to too tight wrinkle Heavy air: close to too loose wrinkle
