In Response To: Jim, gave U some good advise from his somewhat limited perspective! (pic) (geneWj,First Born & Teacher's Pet III. Bradenton,Fl.)

based on living in the Keys for 3 months at cousins marina and in Boot Key Harbor for another 3. That U will find the Boat U own rather confining. Based on that; there is a nice Publix Market on the road to the Marina on one side of the harbor. They charge for docking U'r dinghy and showers.

I kinda figured U'd want to be somewhere where U could get off the boat and live part-time ashore. In the Keys that is hard to do, without bigga bux.

Once U get there the options become quite limited. a few trips to the diving locations on "good" days for U'r craft, the ICW and the docks at Key West and U've been there done that.

Based on U'r self described very limited experience I would think U'd seriously consider finding a place where U can live rather inexpensively, keep the boat in the water and explore!

I do not mean to slight Jim's experiences at all. Sorry Jim for the use of the word limited!

As many of us have found, off the beaten path opens up all sort of good things. Good Luck, Have fun, with smooth sailing and great anchorages.
