Out in winds gusting to around 20 last night. Pinned the rudder forward with a chopstick, and the helm was MUCH easier. Pulled the pin out and it became a test of strength again. Didn't realize that the rudder actually swings forward to get the pin in. I believe that makes it a balanced rudder, meaning that some of the blade is forward of the pivot line, so that the water pressure helps turn the rudder.
Much nicer. Thanks for the help. BTW, we were sitting on opposite sides and almost buried the rails a couple of times. The Sun Cat is pretty stable. Both on one side and it was easy.
