Well, you are getting rid of the 9.9 and I am thinking of adding one! I have a 4 hp now that is really hard for me to start on my Sun Cat. The angle is tough to pull the starter, and the bracket does not move up and down easily enough for me to pull out my engine once I raise the sail. So, I was going to change to an electric start Honda from my Tohatsu, and then hope that the bracket moved up and down better too with the additional weight. My Sun Cat has a bracket that must be made for huge engines- I can't budge the spring mechanism.

Looking at these pictures makes me wonder if I should do that. Kind of looks like a mess with that big engine on it. Any lower hp electric start engines that anybody knows of? Thanks. Like that linkage, though, my Tohatsu slams into the rudder if I do not move them in tandem. All in all, the problems with the bracket and the engine are enough to keep me from sailing as much as I would if I could figure this out better! Thanks for the advice.
