It is good to hear that I am not being overcautious or clumsy. I'll try the linch pin idea - it does sound hopeful . I'm plucking up the courage to single hand and this problem has always made me reluctant. Your boat looks lovely. I hope to be out on Lake Champlain again this week if the weather cooperates!
