In Response To: Raising sail (Dave, Sun Cat #103, Grand Haven, MI)
#1 question asked from new suncat owners.loosen the mainsheet, loosen the downhaul, point bow into wind, raise the gaff 1st 4 long pulls.then pull both halyards toghter hard &fast.the boom will climb the mast past the hinge.then pull the gaff halyard to the top.another pull on the throat halyard and your home, pull the downhaul to get the wrinkle out of the sail.one more thing i found out, tightening the 2 sail outhauls will help get rid of wrinkles in the sail.flat is fast.
