Yacht clubs, Country clubs they are all the same! Despite having letters behind my name, I am just a blue collar guy myself. We love to golf but Country clubs elitist, stuffiness turn us off! Have played the local Country club enough to know I much prefer our local, family-owned and run public course. As to the Catboat Association, I belong for two reasons: (1) I like the newsletter and the info in it and (2)they have done and continue to do much to promote the Catboat and its tradition in a world in which radical "space-shippy" euro designs are the in thing. The latter boats may suffer the same fate as the radical IOR boats of the 70's. For more on this see Ted Brewer's fine article in the current(July-August)issue of Good Old Boat.
