Actually, Bob I may have been a little hard on yacht clubs. There is a great variation in YCs and many ARE down-to-earth and welcoming from dinghy sailors to gold-plater skippers. Actually the Ithaca YC here seems to be such a place and in that kind of club one can learn a lot! Glad you are enjoying it!
