Heavy boat, too

In Response To: I looked at the numbers.....around 80,000 for the boat.... (pic) (Mark Milam , Nonsuch 33, Suncat cabinless, Holder 20, Lafayette, LA.)

Southern Skimmer is only eight feet shorter and weighs about 10 percent of what the Outward Bound boat weighs.

With the petroleum industry running dry, who knows, might be lots of stitch and glue boats on future lakes, and in time recreational boats might mostly look like boats from the 1930's, built from natural materials with simple tools.

That might not be so bad - iron men (and of course women), wooden boats, and armament burning black powder - there's the future, be an early adopter!
