Hey guys, hope you had a great Christmas, Welcome Home. I spent a year with a MI Detachment assigned to CoD,5th SFGA (Delta) and the only way I got from A team to A team was with you rotor jockeys. Sometimes with Air America but that's another story. I did get to Australia for R&R (Jan 68 and Tet hit while there)and was able to get in on the Wednesday afternoon club race at the Middle Harbor Yacht Club. We won and I left with the bottle of Champaign convinced they were all crazy, screaming "Starboard" and trying to hit each other but missing barely. I did keep the Champaign until I got married in 78 and popped the cork while at anchor off the Fl Keys (cays)on our Honeymoon.
We also were able to spend the day on a replica of Capt Cooks ship ( wonder if Cook had that much beer on hand?)
Summary: Ausies are wonderful hosts, I was hooked on sailing and I missed the opening curtain of the Tet Offensive which took out my normal defense position on the first attack. See; life is good.
And my CM qtr ton is for sale (see the listings)
Take care, Happy New Year, stay healthy
Jim
