To All
The manual is way out dated. We love our boats. Can we at least update the manual originally published? Year and model.
We all have personal experience that could be shared with all within our special group of trailor sailors.
I challenge your thoughts on how best to do this instead of directing you how to do it.
Greg in Seattle has been dilengently trying to reconstruct the Registry of CM's by Hull Numbers, I salute him and each and everyone of you should be thankful for that.
By most standards in sailing, I'm barely a novice. But I took it up for I didn't want the hassels of being a registered aviation pilot anymore. I've seen the sky like 99.9% of the population of the earth has never seen. My rotor blades have sliced clouds just like ham. I have dove in and out of the white vapors and have been thrilled doing it. Yet I have been pounded by rain and then the thrust of upwinds and downwinds from thunderstorms at over 3000 feet per minute. Come down a runway with no tailrotor gear box at 40 knots over maximum air speed, burn off the skid rails on my Huey, snag a joint in the runway and flip fourteen times. Vietnamees rescue guy come out with a ax to cut me out, my 45cal was in his face. Though I flew for many more years after that and many more horrific experiences...DC 10 at Sioux City. Most of my crew there couldn't work for years.
Sailing is a pleasure for me now. No FAA regs, no anual inspections, no annual tests. Flying for the Army, on the testing block, at least 80 hours a year. Sorry no more.
Back to the CM Manual
I think one by one, each in our own way we can collectively improve this manual. We all have much to share.
I know we can all can share what we know about our boats. We can keep some things that are particual to each model and then things that apply to all. We can pack this manual with links to whatever works.
It's my true belief that we can all help each other. Some like myself are true McGuivers and many of my solutions are totally out of the box and I've been forced there. Well time has change for me and I'd like to help others.
Anyone interested? You don't have it? It's online. Can't find it I'll get it to you.
Well I need something to keep me busy while raising two golden retriever puppies. Maybe another shipmate in my life too.
If so contact me if your up to do it.
