Hey Dano,
Sounds like a very noble idea, recreating a new manual. What kind of things in the old one do you consider out of date? I've been sailing since I was 12 years old, and have owned dozens of sail and power boats, so I'm with you on being able to fix or recreate almost anything. The clipper I'm in the middle of restoring will be as close to original as I can get it. I've noticed a lot of boats have been modified to suit their owners, or out of a lack of knowledge of what was there to begin with. I think photos of interiors and rigging ect would be a big plus. The big question seems to be, how many variants were there from the factory? I know there a while back I was discussing the keel cable arrangements with Mike and a few others, there I think the factory made some changes. The last owner put in a pulley system for raising the keel, I am going back to the original Fulton brake winch, that way it can be done from the cockpit.
I'd be glad to help in any way, just let me know what!
Till then,
Tom in Tampa CLM26
