Jon,

I am also rebuilding a CM21. I took mine off the trailer to do the bottom paint. I built a super heavy duty swingset looking frame around the front and blocked up the back. I used a heavy duty ratchet strap around the bottom of the hull just in front of the keel trunk to lift the boat off the trailer. I did add some blocks for extra saftey in the front after the trailer was out of the way.

I also removed and reworked the keel while it was off the trailer. The keel is very heavy..... I added a turning block in front of the keel winch, there is some good info in the archives on doing this.

The outside of mine is done, just got done painting the top sides. There is a guy on ebay selling dented cans of boat paint. I went with Dark blue on mine, the gelcoat on the hull was a terrible yellow from the factory.

I have the V-birth done on the inside, but thats about as far as I have gotten so far. I did add several layers off glass to the front of the keel trunk and where the pivot bolt goes.

Hope this helps.

I would be curious to know what the best kind of paint is for painting the interior?

Jeff
