Hey Dan

My forward hatch is a pain in the butt. Except for 60 mph plus winds with rain it doesn't leak. PO installed a solar vent in it and I don't know which caused a leak last summer.

I would like to make my bow section more useable for relaxing for my company and myself. So either get a new solar vent and/or move it aft somewhere. Then make the foward hatch a flush mount, or close to it, installation. Since I have so much unused storage space, I'd like to get removeable deck pad sections that interlock with velcro for that area forward of the mast. Many like to sit there while cruising but that hatch is hard to get comfortable next to enjoy that area.

As to a seal, try looking at Taco. They have a variety of seals, bumper rails and such. And then for a tight fit use a 3M weather seal tape, self adheasive backing, for the lid of your hatch. A 1/8 to 1/4 thick should make it weather and bug proof.
