You know there is a great sailing lake not too far from you call Waldo Lake. Not sure if you are aware of it but it is Oregon's cleanest lake and the 5th cleanest in the USA. This year is actually the last year that you can have a boat with a motor on the lake. I sailed there for the first time last year and loved it. I plan to go this year also sometime in August. If you are interested in coordinating a killer sailing weekend, I will let you know when I am going. The water there is so clear that you can see 130' down on a clear day. There are some pretty good rocks under the water but you are good as long as you stay clear of the shoreline. Also the channels from the boat ramps are shallow so it's a keel up passage. I have a great story about the lake in the archives somewhere. Below is a pic of me and my dog on Waldo lake...notice how blue the water is.
