Hi mike, be carefull of that wench... mine had a rubber brake that stopped the lowering of the keel, you just force it back down, it kind of slides down and clicks up.. three or four years ago that rubber failed on me and the wench dropped my keel. the wench handle spun around and broke my hand. two finger and shattered my knuckles. My love life is over, but I replaced it with a cheap trailor wench that works fine....my friend Larrel's boat has a diff setup...and I've seen alot of people who replace it with electronics....good luck and good sailing
