measuring stays/shrouds CM 26 F/D

Report: outside forum guidelines

I have a CM26 F/D, and had difficulty connecting forestay and significantly tightening up turnbuckles last year. Regarding forestay had to add a turnbuckle to existing turnbuckle in order to connect to the fitting on front deck. Some of the shrouds had very little room to insert the pin in eye hole. Am worried that perhaps stay and shrouds are too short. Would like to measure my frontstay and shrouds, and have the specs from the online manual. However I do not understand how to measure from one end to the other. I suppose you measure from the one end which attaches to the mast, but don't know how to measure the end with the turnbuckle on it. Someone had once said to screw the threaded end in halfway and measure to that point. Does the threaded end have a name, other than threaded end?
