I measured my mast from base to mast head to be 26feet and 2 inches. I thought perhaps Bosun Supply could help me calculate the correct headstay. Using the square of the two sides to determine the diagonal stay, but they did not want to consider it. The current headstay on the boat is too short. I have been unable to determine what the original mast height was, so I don't know if my mast is the original height. As a result I cannot simply order the headstay based on the manual specs. Sam at Bosun Supply suggested I buy the compression fittings, and the wire and make my own headstay when I raise my mast this summer. Any thoughts on the compression fittings vs factory made stays?
