and search the archives. Charles Brennan, who sails extensively out of the Miami area, has some excellent insight into crossing the Stream. It's primarily about choosing your weather windows carefully. He's done it in an 18' Windrose. If you can't find it, repost your question there, and ask him. I would have no qualms about it from the boat standpoint. My sailing ability though I might be a bit leary of.
